NIGERIAN GAY LAWS
The Nigerian government has signed a law forbidden the practice of homosexuality in the country with offenders to spend over 14 years in prison if found guilty. Apart from the law, various Nigerian cultures see the gay acts as an abomination. Gay men and women are usually stripped naked and beaten in public.
Despite threats and the new law, the homosexual community continues to grow secretly in the country. Many who have spoken up openly for the gay community had to leave the country and seek asylum in foreign countries for safety.
